For leg curls, extensions, and calves, use the same rep-range logic but smaller increments where possible. If the machine stack jumps too far, add controlled reps before load. Each exercise keeps its own history; a leg-extension improvement does not authorize a squat increase.
Quad or hamstring fatigue should be expected, but it should not force progressively shorter ranges or unstable repetitions. Use the prescribed rest and adjust today’s execution when safety requires it while recording the change. Soreness the next day does not prove that the session was effective or that more volume is needed.
Recurring cramps, dramatic performance drops, or technique changes may reflect load, pacing, hydration, recovery, or an unsuitable prescription. Those signals are context for review, not a diagnosis. Holding progression can be a productive decision while comparable data accumulates.
Match the function of a movement and start a separate progression history.
